Closer to the Edge by 30 Seconds To Mars

Only now I’m starting to discover 30 Seconds To Mars. My favorite song at the moment is Closer to the Edge. This song is amazing! It’s about living, taking risks for what you want and what you believe, and not regretting it, because it makes you who you are. And you shouldn’t be ashamed of the decisions you make in your life.

I’ve been hearing this song on the radio from time to time the last couple of months. If you missed it, then this is your chance:

The second verse really makes this song for me:

“Can you imagine a time when the truth ran free
The birth of a song, the death of a dream, closer to the edge
This never ending story, paid for with pride and fate
We all fall short of glory, lost in our fate”

This song is ALL about hope. It’s about falling flat on your face and getting back up to try again, about not regretting your failures, because as long as you learn from them, it’s not failure.

EVERYONE fails. There are countless quotes from some of the world’s most successful people about success being what happens when you don’t view failure as an option.. Ben Franklin, Abraham Lincoln, Winston Churchill, and Albert Einstein, just name them.

That’s what this song is about to me. It’s TOTALLY motivational. It tells me “Go take risks, and when they blow up in your face, evaluate what went wrong, and go do it again. Don’t feel sorry for yourself, don’t ever apologize for trying, just get off your ass and go do it again, and do it right this time.”
